There’s a community hall for hire in Carlisle… in fact there are several, but even now, after a couple of years since the refurbishment, not many people have woken up to the the fact that Stanwix Community Centre is ready and waiting for bookings, just across the river. We’re a small hall, it’s fair to say – but we’re special!
Stanwix Community Association have (not so) recently finished an epic improvement scheme on the Church Street buildings, up in Stanwix and now we want people to enjoy the benefits of all our hard work. Stanwix Community Centre has been refurbished inside and out and is waiting for our community to enjoy it.
Stanwix Community Centre is located just off Scotland Road and opposite Stanwix School, next door to our brand new early years and toddler group’s new building. Unlike the other community centres in Carlisle, we have a simple 1 hall facility for hire. Availability, in common with most community centres, is primarily for local Stanwix, groups, families and businesses; but if not in use we do like people to come from far and wide to use our facilities, especially if they are of some benefit to somebody within the neighbourhood of Stanwix. With the completion of the new Carlisle Northern Development Route, access to Stanwix is remarkably pain free and simple now. So – this hall is a much more practical choice than in previous times.
The hall is available between 7am and 11pm. This makes it ideal for groups who need flexible booking arrangements.

The Community Centre in Stanwix has been transformed inside and out. Our users are commenting on what a lovely functional community hall we have for this part of Carlisle. As we work to make the centre available for communal activities, we also need to allow for wear and tear. So any amount that you can chip in via good ol’ Paypal (or any other means) would be much appreciated.
Stanwix Community Association are a voluntary organisation and registered charity responsible for looking after the Community Centre for everyone’s benefit in Stanwix.
As a local voluntary voluntary community organisation in Carlisle, we are always in need of willing volunteers… we are friendly; never been known to bite, so come and join us.
