Road Disruption on Eden Bridge

Cycle Path Improvements For Bike Commuters

Liz Mallinson let us know at the Stanwix Community Association AGM that there is going to be some traffic entertainment on Eden Bridge for a few weeks in March. Improvements to the combined footpath and cycleway are due to start on Eden Bridge on the Monday 4th March. Perhaps I’ll be less likely to cycle into lampposts when i’m not paying attention. 😉

The work is likely to go on to the 22nd March 2019. The affected stretch is on the west side of the road, between Hardwicke Circus and the Cricket Club entrance. The work will take about three weeks to complete.

So that staff can carry out the work safely, the northbound inside lane of Scotland Road will be closed between 09.30 and 15.00 Monday to Friday. pedestrians and cyclists will only be able to access to the footway and cycleway will be from the opposite, East (southbound) side and the council’s little helpers will make sure that there’s appropriate signage in place.

The lane will be open each day, during peak times to minimise disruption.  If you run into any problems, or see something untoward, please  phone 03003032992.”

About Ray Cassidy

Having lived in Stanwix for several years and having found myself with time on my hands, I decided to lend a hand to the SCA way back in 2008. The first project was the Stanwix.info website and a stint as a committee bod. However techie stuff meant we had to lay Stanwix info to rest. I just keep it as a testing platform now. Once the refurbishment of the community centre was complete, we realised that we need ed to make sure we could market the centre reasonably effectively. To that end I offered to use the resources of Consulting Cumbria Ltd to do a little community service. Without going over the top, we have managed to keep the website fairly prominent and integrated a simple online payment and booking system to help us bring in users . If you would like similar help with your business' website just contact us on: 01228 907 795 or find us on the website at Consulting Cumbria Ltd.
