If you are a resident of Stanwix, with silver, grey, youthful or garish hair… join a few others from the village to have a post summer community catch up.
Although it’s aimed at the older generation, and helping them find new, or renewing old connections, there’s more to community than we oldies! If you live locally, you might have wondered what’s in that newly painted old hut beside the Stanwix Preschool Hut. Here’s a chance to see if you could use the hut for your activities… and on this Sunday, to meet others and share experiences over tea or coffee.
SCA (Stanwix Community Association) will provide refreshments but we’ll ask you to bring along a cake or biscuits to share. There will be music (possibly live – maybe we could get Hardwick Circus roped in ๐ ).
Lynda is even dreaming up some suitably undignified games families could play together. Be warned ๐
We will also launch our next event โHadrian 1900โ a celebration of the fact that the hut is built on top of the largest fort along the wall. Abi’s Artscool (local community art business) will be encouraging people to get creative with mosaics, artefacts, Roman jewellery etc. to decorate the area for our Roman Wall themed November event.
