After many years of serving the needs of parents and children of the Stanwix community, Allsorts after school club has decided to dissolve its affairs (if that is the correct term) and cease activity at the end of the Summer term. This has come about in part as Stanwix School have felt under pressure to provide after school care for its pupils as part of the move in the UK to provide wrap around care morning noon and night.
Clearly 2 after school providers in the same locality effectively competing for the same children, was never going to be viable and despite the ongoing success that Allsorts have enjoyed and its continuing popularity with parents, both the staff and the committee have seen it to be in the children’s best interest to move aside and for some staff to join the new setup and for others to move on.
It seems a bit sad after such a long time of looking after our kids that Allsorts is to close, I just wish the new arrangements the best of success and good luck to everybody who has worked so hard to create the fabulous service that our youngsters enjoy today. To the staff I do know, Julie and Dawn, the committee members I’ve met in the work we’ve done through the SCA, Jayne and all the others who my senile old brain can’t actually remember, many thanks for what you’ve done and achieved.
